Steve Krisel
Controller
Steve Krisel, the controller at Thornton Brothers, oversees financial analysis, planning, and preparation of financial statements. Steve has been with Thornton Brothers since 2008, and brought a wide range of experiences from working at a leading international accounting firm to implementing financial systems for three Greenfield projects.
Steve believes that the people are what make Thornton Brothers a unique company.
“The employees are the best group I have worked with in my career,” says Steve. “The company lives by standards that business books have been written about.”
Steve attended Fairleigh Dickson University and earned his MBA at the University of Georgia. In his college years, Steve met his wife while teaching tennis under Don Budge, the first person to win the tennis grand slam.
He resides in Oconee County with his wife, and has one son who is a pilot in the Air Force, and one daughter who is in graduate school at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Steve is a graduate of LEAD Athens, former president of Athens Sertoma Club, and enjoys cycling and home improvement projects in his spare time.
